What we stand for
Enforcement
The CRJP recognises the Code of Practices must be enforced in order to achieve its objective of promoting responsible business practices and in turn, maintaining confidence in the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain. A credible implementation system must include appropriate sanctions for unremediated, repeated or deliberate non-conformance with the provisions of the Code of Practices or failure to demonstrate continuous improvement.
In addition, there must be a transparent and independent process for the resolution of disputes. As such, an important aspect of constructing the implementation system during 2007 will be the development of effective enforcement mechanisms. Further details will appear in due course as we develop the implementation system.
