Türkiye Jewellery Exporters’ Association (TJEA) joins Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) as a trade association member

As of today, Türkiye Jewellery Exporters’ Association (JTR) is a Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Trade Association Member.

“Jewellery Exporters’ Association of Türkiye (JTR) is proud to announce its membership of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the premier standards organisation for the jewellery and watch sector. This partnership highlights JTR’s commitment to sustainable and ethical jewellery production, aligning with RJC’s stringent standards on human rights, labour rights, environmental impact, and responsible sourcing. “Joining the RJC marks a pivotal moment for JTR, affirming our dedication to ethical practices globally, said Burak Yakın, President of JTR. The membership facilitates enhanced collaboration with global industry leaders, ensuring that Turkish jewellery meets the highest standards of consumer and environmental expectations.”

Jewellery Exporters’ Association is a non-profit association, which was founded in July 2003 by the Council of Ministers of Republic of Türkiye and is affiliated with The Ministry of Trade. The Jewellery Exporters’ Association fosters cooperation with organisations considered to be key partners in order to achieve the Association’s objectives to nurture through education, support export and import and globally promote the Turkish jewellery business and has in this spirit become a Trade Association Member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

The Association has nearly 4000 members and has been a fundamental support to organisations that export jewellery, helping them to reach more markets abroad and to secure a greater share in these markets.

The Association organises seminars, trade fairs and exhibitions to introduce Turkish jewellery producers to world markets. It organises trade missions from Türkiye to potential export markets and buying missions from many different countries to Türkiye. This follows recent developments in international law and foreign trade regulation affecting importer countries, keeping their members informed. The Association also compiles and prepares market reports on key markets focusing on the export performance of the sector on a regular basis and keeping all their members up to date.

“When I met the Jewellery Exporters’ Association in Türkiye last year, I was impressed with their knowledge of the market and commitment to exporters. I am delighted to welcome them as an accredited Trade Association Member of RJC in what is a period of exciting expansion for us. As a member they will further strengthen the RJC’s ability to achieve our goal of building trust, transparency, and sustainability across the entire jewellery and watch supply chain, benefiting consumers, communities, and the environment.” Melanie Grant RJC, Executive Director.
